Bagasse: waste from sugar cane

Bagasse means 'waste'. It is the fibre that remains after the juice has been pressed from sugar cane stalks. The food-safe, sturdy and tasteless raw material that is created in this way is perfect to use as a base for plates, dishes, bowls and containers, for example. When used for a short period of time, the material is grease-resistant and suitable for hot dishes up to 40 °C. Bagasse products can be placed in the freezer and in the microwave. Because no plastic is used in the packaging, they are compostable in an industrial environment and can be placed in the green bin after use. Our bagasse products comply with the tightened PFAS legislation for materials that come into contact with food.
